The Joy of Freedom

According to world statistics, about 44% of the human population lives under very oppressive regimes and in many cases in the form of open slavery. It is hard to believe that in our days we are still dealing with issues of slavery. For example, in some African countries people are fleeing from their towns in search of survival and possible freedom. In the United States, which is a country known as a champion of freedom, we are still finding cases of sexual slavery through human trafficking. You see, freedom is determined by the ability to choose and become independent without being bound, confined, detained or controlled by force.
Ironically, even people that enjoy civil liberties are still affected by spiritual slavery through the agent of sin. When people lack spiritual freedom, they also suffer consequences of slavery in areas such as the physical, emotional and intellectual.
In reality, spiritual freedom is the liberty to fulfill God’s will in serving others with our gifts and talents which drive us to a life destined to serve with a purpose. Real freedom comes through the knowledge of the plan that our Creator has set before us. Jesus said “Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free”. To enjoy the benefits of this permanent freedom, we must accept the gift of deliverance prepared for us by our loving Father through the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. Deliverance is the beginning of a new life in Christ. Once we are free, we will discover that freedom imposes a higher demand in our behavior and responsibilities.
Responsibility is a requirement to freedom. People that learn to enjoy freedom walk with a higher sense of responsibility before others. It becomes a responsibility to serve one another. It is the ability to do what is right before God. Once you confess your sins and accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, you will truly be affected by total deliverance. You will discover the awesome power of liberty. No government or man can give you the freedom that only God grants to all His children that receive his gift by faith in his Son. Accept this gift today and enjoy your permanent freedom. All you have to do is confess with your mouth and believe in your heart that Jesus Christ is your Lord and Savior. Remember he came to set the captives free.
“Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground."
Genesis 1:26
