We live in a time when people are skeptical about one another. People no longer trust financial institutions, government agencies or established religion. The disappointment comes from the wrong actions taken by these organizations.

So in a time when we struggle to trust and believe in the establishment, the question is who can we trust? On this day and age the answer comes from the Sacred Scriptures that encourage us to believe and trust God. People that have learned to do so become secured of their destiny, no matter the failures of others and themselves. For example, when the great Christian scientist Michael Saraday was dying a friend asked him “What are your speculations about what is to come?” Saraday replied, “I have no speculations, I rest my soul on certainty.” It is true that when you make God yours you will be forever His. In the cathedral of Milan there are three signs. The left sign reads, “all that pleases is but for a moment.” The right sign reads, “All that troubles is but for a moment.” And the central panel reads, “All that matters is forever.” The Lord Jesus Christ said it in simple manner, “Very truly I tell you, whoever believes has eternal life.” (John 6:47).

Once you make a commitment to believe with your heart that Jesus Christ is your Lord and Savior and you confess him with your mouth as such, you belong to Him forever. An unbreakable relationship is established forever and nothing will separate you from his love.

“But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.” John 1:12
