Juan 8:36
The price of bondage
One of the favorite acts in a circus is to see elephants going around in
circles dancing to a special music and doing all kind of neat tricks. The
trainer makes it look easy but the fact is that it takes a lot of time and
patience for the elephant to learn to do such tricks. The training
begins on an early age of the elephant by placing a heavy chain in one
of its legs, that chain is attached to a steel bar in the middle of a circle,
the elephant learns just to go around that circle day in and day out.
After it becomes accustom to the chain, the trainer removes it for
the purpose of the circus act, and if the elephant goes around the
circle without the chain, then it is ready for its act. The same thing
happens to people that are bounded by sin they get use to an
attitude of comfort with their sinful nature. All they do is go around
in circles with their lives. Satan is the ring master he knows how to treat
his subjects who are bounded by sin. While the trainer will offer
peanuts to the elephant, Satan offers a small pleasure at a big price.
The goal is to keep people in bondage attached to a hopeless future.
It may be some type of substance abuse, sexual addiction, depression,
oppression, or plain emotional chaos. Fortunately our loving God has
a perfect plan to free us from bondage. The first step that anyone
needs to take to be free is to accept Jesus Christ as a Lord and
Savior. Once you give your life to Him, your road to recovery is at
hand as a process of restoration. For some, it can happen instantly
according to their faith, for others it may take a little time. What
matters is the first step to break away from the bondage of Satan.
Jesus came to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight
to the blind, and to set at liberty those who are oppressed. If you are
dealing with any habit that needs to be broken or any feelings of
oppression, you need to call upon Jesus to set you free. All you
have to do is ask Him to come to your heart and be the Lord of
your life just like you are. You do not have to be perfect to come to
Him. He will take you step by step to a victorious walk, He will make
you whole. |
